Do you ever get up from your desk chair and feel like less than a million bucks? Maybe you hear some snapping, crackling and popping in your back, knees and hips and wonder how the heck you got to that point?
Well, all of those signs are all too common and are proof that human beings are sitting WAY too much and not moving and stretching our bodies like we should. While most of us strive to eat right, drink enough water and exercise a few days a week, my hunch is that those efforts fall short during the hours of 8-5pm if you're hard at work hunched over a desk. I have a solution for you...
It's exactly like it sounds - exercise done at your desk. It's as simple as that. Open a few emails, exercise. Answer a few phone calls, exercise. Chat with you boss about that memo you never received, exercise. Host a team huddle, exercise!
A sedentary lifestyle is associated with higher risks for obesity, Type 2 diabetes, cancers and heart disease. It's also a leading cause of muscle imbalances that lead to injury, depression and low energy.
